existing in two environments…

meaning, being in two places at once.

It seems impossible. We are said to only exist in one reality, one environment at a time. I think we can exist in two environments at the same time.

Have you ever been driving, received a phone call, continued driving (staying as attentive as you were before the phone call) and at the same time talked to the person on the other end of the line? Perhaps it was about work; a client meeting that went bad. Maybe it’s your wife asking you what you want for dinner. All the while you are navigating the highway; changing lanes and breaking for a car doing 55 in the left lane.

You are participating in two separate environments. Living in the car, yet affecting what is happening on the other end of the phone.

Am I making sense?

  1. Yes, that makes sense… but what is your point? If a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound?

  2. My point is it seems like you can, in a really loose (late-night thought) theory, exist in two environments at once.

  3. I suppose… but are you really “living” or “existing” in two environments at once or just effecting 2 or more environments at once like in your telephone theory. What if you are on driving while on the phone and the person on the other end is talking to someone on the phone and relaying what you are saying to another person in the room whom is also on the phone… Are you technically “living” in more than one environment or can you only live in the environment in which you physically exist?

  4. I mean you are affecting two separate environments. Living in one, affecting two.

Unless, you think your voice is actually a part of your self. If so, then it is traversing to the other side via the phone.

  5. Good point. I suppose it’s all about perception. Thanks for clogging my brain with one more theory.

I had a science teacher in highschool that suggested we are all just dust particles on a broom and are being swept by some woman in a kitchen. Like ants for instance. They are so small they usually fit into the crevices on the bottom of our shoes. Do they even know we are coexisting? In relation to your brain clogger… we are simaltaneously coexisting with many different environments like that of insects or bacteria and germs. It’s possible that our world is like that of an ants world in ours.

This is way to deep for my brain right now. lol.
